3.5 days to go…

We’re down to just 3.5 days of school for 2011!  It’s hard to believe that this first half of the school year is already over.  It seems like yesterday we just started this school year, but I feel like we, the class, have been together for so much longer.   We’ve got the rhythm down now…. albeit it, homework is still a struggle for a few.  :)

We’ve finally wrapped up the California Indian reports!  Wahoo!  It was a struggle, but we survived.  We’re busy learning about Drake, Cabrillio, Portola, Cortes, and many other European explorers who came to California this week. We’ll take a Unit test for math on Wednesday, learn a little bit about December’s author of the month: Chris Van Allsburg, meet up with our 1st grade buddies for some reindeer games, and then call this calendar year to a close.   I’m looking forward to 2012…. we have so much more to do and the second half of the year goes so much quicker than the first, so we’re really going to have to buckle down and get to work ASAP.    So… class… have a great vacation and enjoy the 2 weeks off, but come back on January 9th to get back to some serious work!  :)
