Basic Math Facts
Memorization of basic math facts is most efficiently done at home. By fourth grade, you should have all of your basic math facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division memorized. If you do not, you need to continue to work on it independently at home.
POW (Problem of the Week, math)
The problem of the week is a word problem that you will complete to the best of your ability. It will be handed out on Monday and is due Friday. Often, more than one way is possible for solving the problem. Remember to complete all four steps on binder paper.
Spelling
The spelling worksheet is nightly and it will be corrected in class the following day. Weekly spelling lists demonstrate a particular spelling rule. A spelling test will be given on Friday.
Writing
A writing assignment will be completed once a week on the topic given. Students are to use complete sentences, use correct punctuation, and write an adequate amount on the topic.
State Dailies (Social Studies)
State Dailies is a worksheet that reviews California history facts. Worksheets will be passed out at the beginning of the week and due at the end of the week.
Weekly Envelope
Each week an envelope with corrected work and any school correspondence will be sent home. Parents should review the contents and then sign the envelope. Students will return the signed envelopes the following day.
