It’s hard to believe that it’s the last day of school today.  This year has just flown by.  Looking back, it’s been an amazing year!  We’ve had some great times and a few low times, but all in all, it’s been a blast!  This class is memorable for so many reasons.  First of all, the 29 students in the class…. everyone brought something great to the class.   A few memories will always remind me of this class: Kyle’s love of food and eating practically anything from anywhere, Masa and the infamous incident with the blue marker that brought about her alter-ego “Blue Beard”, Rachie’s love of horses, Katie, Angie, Ashl, Hannah, Jishing, Masa, and various other girls who performed skits for us at the end of the day, Navin, Samuel, Ryan, Roland, and many other boys who performed skits for us that always left us slightly baffled and wondering, “What was that?!?!”, and of course, Roland… or Rollie, Pollie, Olllie, or Poland, or Rol….

It’s truly been a fun, fabulous school year, and I will miss working with this group.  I’ve had so much fun!  THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR!  HAVE A SUPER SUMMER!

Thank you to all the wonderful parents in our class for all the help they’ve given me and the school this year!  I feel really fortunate to work in a school with such wonderfully supportive parents!

A big thank you to Susan, Connor’s mom, for taking on the job of Room Mom for our class.  She did so much for the class and me… I can’t thank you enough! Thank you also for driving on all of the field trips.

Thank you to Sarah (Katie’s mom) and Poonam (Pranay’s mom) for being the wonderful weekly library volunteers.

Life has been a little hectic…. so I haven’t had a chance to blog in 2 weeks…. so now it’s time to play a little bit of catch-up.

Our class won the most points in science lab for fourth grade,  so we received  a very special science lab with Mrs. Mackin on Wednesday, May 26.  Sadly, I was out that day so a sub was with the class to enjoy the Coke and Mentos experiment.  I’m told the class had a blast and Masa was soaked!  Darn, I forgot to have the sub take photos.

Friday, May 28th was our field trip to YSI @ Vasona Park for California Everything.  First, we went to a classroom to  talk about all things regarding California, like the state seal, state bird, state tree, state mammal, state fossil, etc.  Then, it was time for some outdoor fun.  Thanks to so many fourth grade parents, we had a fun afternoon of games and food.  Thank you to our great parent drivers: Cindy’s mom, Rachie’s dad, Angela’s dad, Connor’s mom, and Belle’s mom.

The following week started off with a holiday.  Tuesday was the first day of June!  Holy smokes, it’s June!  Couldn’t believe it.  We were down to the last 9 days of this school year.  We  wrapped up some loose ends in math and social studies.  The end of the week was the end of the year for two of our classmates, Mohini and Frederick.  Mohini was off to India and Frederick was off to Korea!  Bye,  Mohini and Freddy!  We’ll miss you.    It also brought the end of SEF funded music and p.e.  Thanks, Mrs. Alejandro and Ms. Wallace, for a great year of music and P.E.

And now, it’s the last week of school. 

Monday, June 7th was Foothill’s annual Field Day!  We had lots of fun playing games, eating Otter pops, and then watching a comedy show performed by some of Foothill’s 5 graders.

Tuesday, June 8th was our last day for buddies.  We celebrated by having a water balloon toss, some popsicles, and then a picnic lunch together!  Thank you, Mrs. Weber’s first graders, for a great year of buddies !

Tomorrow… will be our last Wednesday of the year… nothing too exciting tomorrow…but  Thursday is the class auction, and Friday is the last day of school as well as the Awards Assembly!
